the carnival fete

about the fete

The Carnival Fete is held at the Morgan Field, Lower Broadmoor Road, and comprises numerous stalls, including different charities and local groups, children’s fun rides, a full stage with a variety of acts, an arena performance, many food outlets, a beer tent, and much much more.

Requesting a stall: There is a pitch fee for a stall as shown on the application form found on this web site.  The price depends upon the size of the pitch and whether it is for a local/non-local group, charity, trader or food stall.

What you need to bring: The fete team will mark out the pitches and allocate you one, in advance of the day, as best they can according to your requirements. You will need to provide everything you need to run your stall, such as a gazebo, tables, and chairs. If you have any specific requirements, then detail them on the application form and the team will help if they can.

Facilities: Free standing toilets will be available on site. There are more toilets in the Morgan centre lower level (accessible from behind the play area). This is also where the disabled toilet is situated. Unfortunately, we cannot provide mains electricity, so you will need to bring your own independently powered generator (please include this information on the form). There may be access to an outside tap for water, but this is not guaranteed.

Parking: The Morgan car park is not available for general parking. Stallholders can park for free in the nearby Edgbarrow School car park just a short walk along Grant Road, otherwise parking is in parking bays and on the grass along Lower Broadmoor Road.

Rubbish: Bins will be provided on and around the field for the publics rubbish and recyclable waste. These bins are not available for commercial use. All commercial waste must be removed by the originator and the pitch must be left rubbish and litter-free.  Click here to see our recommendations on keeping waste to a minimum.

Field safety: The Carnival gazebo is the lost property point and the NCT are offering children’s changing facilities. First aid facilities will also be available. For safety reasons cars must be clear of the field by 11am and will not be permitted to return until 5pm when the fete is closed. Drivers must always follow the directions of the stewards. Carnival stewards will patrol the field to observe any at risk areas.
