I was pleased to introduce the 20O8 carnival which was our 17th since the re-introduction of the Carnival in 1977 .
We chose the theme “Fun & Fantasy”. FUN to recognise the huge sense of humour and love of the silly things we have in this country. FANTASY because within us all is the child who believes in fairies and loves dragons and weird beings. Our world is not short of troubling things and from time to time we need to forget about the sadness and worries and celebrate the pure joy of being silly and exuberant and alive in this magical world.
