Welcome to our 2006 Carnival Archive page.

I was pleased to introduce the 2006 Carnival which is our 16th since the re-introduction of the Carnival in 1977 to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.

We chose the theme “Heroes and Villains” to recognise the many heroes we have in this country, whether it is our sporting heroes in the recent Winter Olympics and Commonwealth games and in the up and coming Football World Cup or our armed forces all around the world in their difficult job in trying to preserve peace.

There are also heroes fighting poverty and starvation against the villains of war, corruption and natural disaster.

Carnival Princess

The 2006 Carnival Princess was Tanisha Smith from Broadmoor Primary School.

The 2006 Carnival Princess Attendants were Imogen Arton-Powell and Megan Boobyer both from Oaklands Junior School.
